The Mongol Refinery, located in Altanshiree Soum, is the largest project ever undertaken by India under an LoC. Once operational, it is expected to meet nearly 75% of Mongolia’s domestic demand for petroleum products. For India, this project is a cornerstone of its ‘Act East’ policy, extending its influence into Central Asia and the Eurasian landmass. It reflects India’s role as a reliable developmental partner and a "first responder" in infrastructure capacity building.
