Strengthening India-Philippines Strategic Ties: A New Chapter in Indo-Pacific Cooperation

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar’s recent visit to Manila to meet with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. marks a significant milestone in the evolving bilateral relationship between India and the Philippines. As India continues to operationalize its 'Act East' policy, the Philippines has emerged as a critical partner in the Indo-Pacific region. The discussions centered on the implementation of the India-Philippines Plan of Action (2025–2029), a comprehensive roadmap designed to elevate cooperation across defense, maritime security, trade, and technology.
