VB-GRAM Scheme: Strengthening Rural Resilience with ₹95,692 Crore Allocation

The Ministry of Rural Development has announced a significant interim allocation of ₹95,692 crore for the Village-Based Growth and Resource Augmentation Management (VB-GRAM) scheme. This ambitious initiative marks a strategic shift in India’s rural development trajectory, focusing on the holistic transformation of the country’s most underdeveloped regions, specifically targeting the 'aspirational blocks'. The VB-GRAM scheme is designed to move beyond traditional subsidy-based models toward a 'resource augmentation' approach.
