Government Intensifies Tribal Welfare Outreach via 'Jan Sunwai' Initiative

In a significant push towards inclusive governance, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs has mandated states to conduct 'Jan Sunwai' (public grievance and entitlement camps) at designated Adi Sewa Kendras between August 13 and 15, 2026. This initiative is a core component of the broader 'Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan,' which seeks to bridge the gap between government policy and the actual delivery of benefits to tribal communities.

The primary objective of these camps is to ensure the doorstep delivery of various welfare schemes, ranging from educational scholarships and healthcare access to land rights and livelihood support. By decentralizing the grievance redressal mechanism, the government aims to minimize bureaucratic hurdles that often prevent vulnerable tribal populations from accessing their entitlements. Furthermore, the initiative focuses on strengthening grassroots tribal leadership, encouraging local participation in the monitoring and implementation of development programs.

For effective implementation, the Ministry has emphasized the role of Adi Sewa Kendras as single-window facilitation centers.
