In a significant statement regarding India's cultural policy, Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat recently emphasized that Indian civilization is a profound "amalgamation" of various faiths and historical influences. He articulated that the diverse layers of India’s past—ranging from ancient Vedic temples to the intricate Islamic architectural marvels of the medieval period—hold equal importance in defining the nation's identity. By stating that "pages of history, no matter their colour, cannot be excised," the Minister advocated for a holistic recognition of India’s pluralistic heritage.
