In a significant move to bolster its influence in global governance, India has joined the 'Partners for Multilateralism' (P4M) initiative. This nascent grouping, which includes the European Union, Brazil, Kenya, and Canada, seeks to provide a platform for middle powers and influential nations to advocate for a rules-based international order. By participating in the inaugural session in New York, represented by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, India is signaling a strategic pivot toward fostering a 'third way' in global politics—one that avoids the binary traps of superpower competition.
