NITI Aayog Report Highlights Large-Scale Government School Closures

This translates to an average of 25 school closures per day, a phenomenon largely driven by the policy of 'school rationalization' or consolidation, often linked to the implementation frameworks of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The rationale behind this consolidation is typically to optimize resources, improve teacher-student ratios, and create 'school complexes' that offer better infrastructure and facilities.
