At its core, SARTHAK-PDS seeks to modernize the Public Distribution System (PDS) by integrating Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies. Blockchain technology will be utilized to create an immutable ledger for tracking food grains from Food Corporation of India (FCI) godowns to the end consumer, significantly reducing the scope for diversion and 'leakages' that have historically plagued the system. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms will be deployed for predictive analytics to forecast demand at the Fair Price Shop (FPS) level and to identify anomalies in beneficiary data, effectively weeding out ghost ration cards.
